Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

We collect the information you choose to provide, primarily through our contact forms, showing-request forms, home-valuation tools, and account sign-up. This typically includes:

• Contact details — your name, email address, and phone number.
• Inquiry details — the property, neighborhood, market, price range, timeline, or message you send us, including showing requests and home-value requests.
• Account information — if you create an optional account, your saved homes, saved searches, and search preferences.
• Communications — records of your calls, texts, and emails with us so we can follow up and serve you.

Sign-in providers

On rethought-realestate.com, you can sign in with Google or Apple instead of an email code. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. Google also shares your profile photo, which we do not keep. If you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address, which may be a private relay address that Apple creates for you. We store that information and the sign-in tokens the provider issues with your account, and we use them only to create your account, sign you in and keep it secure. We never receive your password, and we do not access your contacts, mail or files. We do not sell that information.

The reThought Homes app

Our reThought Homes app for iPhone collects the same kinds of information as the Site. It also collects:

• Approximate location. If you allow location access, the app rounds your position to about 1 km on your phone before using it to show nearby homes. We never receive or store your precise location. You can turn location access off in your phone's settings at any time.
• A notification token. If you turn on notifications, we store the device token Apple gives us so we can send the saved-search alerts and updates you asked for. Turning notifications off stops them, and deleting your account removes the token.
• Searches and activity. Your searches are linked to an anonymous visitor ID before you sign in, and to your account after. Saved searches, saved homes, and the homes you view are linked to your account. The app uses them to remember your place, show homes that fit what you look for, and see which features are used so we can make the app better.
• Diagnostics. The app and phone software version, and an error report when something goes wrong.

Maps in the app come from Mapbox. Mapbox receives the map area you're viewing so it can draw it, under its own privacy policy. The app has no advertising or third-party analytics tools, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, listings viewed, referring URLs, and general location inferred from your IP address. See our Cookie Policy for details and your choices.

Property and listing data

The for-sale listings displayed on the Site come from Multiple Listing Service (MLS) Internet Data Exchange (IDX) feeds, not from you. See Section 7 (Listing Data and IDX) for the sources and terms that govern that data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries, schedule showings, and provide real estate brokerage services.
• Connect you with a reThought agent and route your request to the right office or market.
• Send you property information, saved-search alerts, and updates you have requested.
• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and our services.
• Measure marketing performance and understand how visitors use the Site.
• Comply with legal, regulatory, and real estate licensing obligations, and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Text Messages (SMS) and Calls

If you provide your phone number and consent to be contacted, a reThought agent or our systems may call or send you text (SMS) messages using a messaging provider (Twilio) about your inquiry, showings, listings, and related real estate services.

• Consent: Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any property or service. You may decline texts and still work with us by phone or email.
• Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your activity and conversations with your agent.
• Opt out: Reply STOP to any text message to opt out of further texts at any time. Reply HELP for help. After you opt out, we may send one confirmation message.
• Carriers: Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We handle calls and texts consistent with applicable law, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or SMS consent with third parties for their own marketing.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as needed to operate our business:

• reThought agents and staff — the agent(s) handling your inquiry receive your contact details so they can help you.
• Service providers — vendors that perform services for us under contract, such as our IDX/MLS data provider (Repliers), mapping and place-content provider (Google Maps Platform), messaging provider (Twilio), email/CRM and hosting providers (including Vercel), and, on the Site, analytics and advertising providers (see our Cookie Policy).
• Cooperating parties in a transaction — if you move forward on a property, parties such as the other side's brokerage, lenders, title companies, or inspectors, as needed to complete the transaction.
• Legal and safety — when required by law, regulation, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of reThought, our clients, or others.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

Some advertising and analytics technologies described in our Cookie Policy may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain state privacy laws. See Section 8 (Your Privacy Rights) for how to opt out.

5. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, analytics, and advertising. Our analytics and advertising partners include Google (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, and Google Ads), Meta/Facebook (the Meta Pixel), and Vercel Analytics. For a full breakdown by category and your opt-out choices, see our Cookie Policy.

6. Data Retention and Security

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain our client relationship, comply with our legal and recordkeeping obligations (including real estate transaction and licensing requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Listing Data and IDX

Property listings on the Site are provided through MLS Internet Data Exchange (IDX) feeds delivered by our data provider, Repliers. Florida listings are sourced from Stellar MLS; Wisconsin listings are sourced from Metro MLS / Wisconsin MLS.

Listing information is deemed reliable but is not guaranteed accurate by the MLS or by reThought, and is subject to prior sale, change, or withdrawal. All listing data is provided for consumers' personal, non-commercial use and may not be used for any purpose other than to identify prospective properties consumers may be interested in purchasing.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain advertising or analytics activities. To exercise a right, contact us at privacy@rethought-realestate.com or at the address below; we will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.

To limit advertising and analytics cookies, use the browser and ad-network controls described in our Cookie Policy.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites and services we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites; review their privacy policies before providing information.

Google Maps Platform supplies certain mapping, place, rating, and review content. Google's handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page; please review it periodically.
